Håkansson Allperformer – M51 / PM51 Bi-metal Bandsaw Blade
The Håkansson Allperformer is a high-performance bi-metal bandsaw blade designed for demanding metal cutting applications where durability, consistency, and tolerance of real-world workshop conditions matter. Allperformer blades are manufactured using M51 high-speed steel tooth material, with many sizes now transitioning to PM51 (Powder Metallurgical M51) for improved wear resistance and cutting stability. First Allperformer sizes are due to arrive in New Zealand from April 2026, covering the most common workshop requirements, with additional widths and pitches following as production transitions to PM51.

Description
Håkansson Allperformer – M51 / PM51 Bi-metal Bandsaw Blade – Technical Overview
The Håkansson Allperformer is a general-purpose M51 bi-metal bandsaw blade designed to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of cutting conditions.
Unlike highly aggressive or narrowly application-specific blades, Allperformer is engineered to be forgiving of real-world workshop variables, including:
-
Mixed materials
-
Interrupted cuts
-
Variable feed rates
-
Older or less rigid bandsaw machines
This makes it particularly well suited to jobbing shops and general engineering environments where cutting conditions are not always ideal.
M51 and PM51 tooth material
Allperformer blades are classed as M51 high-speed steel. During the current manufacturing transition, some sizes are produced using PM51 (Powder Metallurgical M51) tooth material.
PM51 has a finer, more uniform structure, improving resistance to tooth chipping and premature wear — particularly in interrupted cuts, mixed materials, and less controlled cutting environments.
Both materials are classed as M51. The difference lies in how the tooth material is produced, not in the blade design or intended application.
Material type is clearly stated for each stocked blade size.

These initial sizes cover the most common requirements for stainless steels, high-strength alloys, and mixed-material jobbing work. Additional widths and pitches will follow as shipments arrive and production transitions further to PM51.
Typical applications
Allperformer blades are commonly used for:
-
Carbon and alloy steels
-
Stainless steels (including 304 and 316)
-
Tool steels and harder engineering materials
-
Mixed-material cutting in jobbing workshops
They prioritise cutting edge stability and durability under demanding conditions rather than aggressive, high-risk cutting behaviour.
Availability in New Zealand
Allperformer blades will be stocked in stages as shipments arrive. This product page remains the central reference hub for the Allperformer range and will link to individual stocked sizes as they become available.
